A Quest for Maple Syrup

We toured a local Maple Syrup Farm today and took notes for our own attempt at making Maple Syrup.

The hardest thing in the early spring is to determine which tree is a maple tree.  The bark looks like this
 

So we got the old 4-wheeler out and took our implements of destruction up the hill.  We identified a likely suspect and sap started flowing even while we were still drilling.
